Beach Volleyball
The Bears were set to play Kennesaw State University for a midweek game on Wednesday, Apr. 6, but the game was canceled. Instead, Mercer hosted Furman University Saturday, Apr. 9 and Sunday, Apr. 10, going 2-1 in the games.

Women’s basketball had their most impressive season in the past three years but fell to the University of Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament 83-38 on March 19.
While students left for spring break, several Mercer sports teams continued to play, including beach volleyball, men's and women's tennis, and softball.
The women's basketball team entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the 2022 Southern Conference tournament and played No. 8 Western Carolina University on Mar. 3. Mercer defeated the Catamounts 85-46 and played Samford the next day. With a combined 38 points from Amoria Neal-Tysor and Shannon Titus, the Bears took down the Bulldogs 65-35 and punched a ticket to the SoCon championship game.
The women’s basketball team finished their regular season with a 64-55 win over Samford on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Bears continued Southern Conference play with games against Western Carolina University on Thursday, Feb. 10 and the University of North Carolina Greensboro on Saturday, Feb. 12.
The Mercer men’s basketball team played Chattanooga in Tennessee Feb. 5, before playing them again at home Feb. 7. The Bears lost on Saturday 68-77, going 49% from the field, 36% from the three-point line, and 81.8% from the free-throw line as a team.
The Bears faced Samford University at Hawkins Arena on Jan. 29 and defeated the Bulldogs 73-66.

After a tough loss to Alabama in the beginning of January, Mercer's men's tennis team bounced back and went on a four game winning streak. They played four teams over the weekend and came out winning all four matches and improved their record to 4-1.
The Mercer women’s tennis team started their season Jan. 21 with a loss against Stetson University 1-6. The Bears went on to play Florida State University Jan. 23 and lost a closer series against the Seminoles by a score of 3-4.
The Bears traveled to Alabama to face Samford on Wednesday, Jan. 26 and fell to the Bulldogs 61-75.
The Bears continued their winning streak Jan. 17 when they defeated East Tennessee State University 66-54 at Hawkins Arena.
The women’s basketball team traveled to North Carolina Thursday to face the University of North Carolina Greensboro. The Bears defeated the Spartans 66-60, bringing their overall record to 9-5 and 2-0 in the Southern Conference.
Georgia vs. Alabama has been a rivalry game for decades, with the matchup growing more and more heated in recent years thanks to postseason matchups and fierce competition. The rivalry reached a boiling point when the two teams met for the second time this season Monday night and the Dawgs took down the Tide 33-18 to win the College Football Playoff National Championship for the first time since 1980.
The Bears defeated Kennesaw State University 66-49 in Hawkins Arena on Monday, Nov. 29, securing a 5-3 record for the season.
