Kolby Cooper drew out a packed house to downtown Macon's Cox Capitol Theatre with a heartfelt performance on Nov. 22, 2025.
Cooper opened the night with one of his fan favorites “2 Words” that pulled in the audience before moving into high energy country tracks that had everybody singing along. The set shifted around between rowdy moments and the slower, more reflective songs. The set provided fans a mix of both intensity and storytelling. In particular, “Excuses” and “Kill Me” earned some of the loudest reactions, while “Every Single Kiss” turned a full crowd into a sing-along. The entire set was extremely well received and serves as the epitome for good country rock.
The east Texas native began releasing music as a teenager and gained traction with songs rooted in heartbreak and real-world struggle. His blend of country storytelling and rock influenced production earned him a strong presence on streaming platforms with over 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Tracks like “Every Single Kiss,” “Kill Me” and “It Ain’t Me” helped expand his national audience, and his Macon performance reflected the same honest, high energy style that pushed him upward in the genre.
Several attendees said that the relatability of Cooper’s writing is what keeps them coming back. Macon native Emily Watkins said that Cooper’s songs feel genuine.
“When he sings ‘Every Single Kiss,’ it feels like he is describing something I actually lived through,” Watkins said.
Ryan Matthews, who traveled from Warner Robins for the show, said he was drawn to Cooper’s sound.
“I like how he mixes country and rock. ‘Kill Me’ is the one that hooked me because it has attitude but still has real meaning,” Matthews said.
Another fan and Macon resident Jasmine Lee, said that it was the honesty in the lyrics that stood out to her.
“He says a lot of things that people think but don’t really get to say out loud. To me, that's why songs like ‘Fall’ and ‘Excuses’ hit so hard for me,” she said.
Overall, the Capitol Theatre crowd had a great time at Cooper’s concert. In fact, many fans lingered after the show and discussed both the performance and the personal connection they felt to the music. Cooper’s performance adds yet another brick to the wall of great music in Macon and highlights exactly why his fanbase continues to grow across the country.
