Join the staff

Join The Cluster’s award-winning staff! All applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students at Mercer University on the Macon campus. Students of any class or major are encouraged to apply.

Most current staff members started as contributors. To get involved with The Cluster, attend a story meeting or contact a section editor. Story meetings currently take place every Monday evening at 6:15 p.m. in The Cluster's office space located on the top floor of the Connell Student Center.

Students who are interested in receiving updates about meetings and opportunities can email editor@mercercluster.com about joining our Slack channel.

Current Opportunities

Currently, The Cluster is not hiring for the fall 2025 semester. However, prospective writers are encouraged to write for The Cluster before hiring restarts in January 2026 in order to have experience with the paper – preference will be given in the spring to applicants who have contributed to the paper before.
