Toney Auditorium will be brought to life this Friday, Oct. 3 with music from rising artists on Mercer’s campus at Cubstock 2025, starting at 7 p.m. The annual, free live concert hosted by QuadWorks showcases the talents of Mercer musicians and performers. Bands performing at Cubstock will compete for the opportunity to open for the Bearstock music festival this coming Spring while solo acts will be in the contest to be determined the winner of Cubstock.

“QuadWorks is very excited to host Cubstock during Family Weekend this year! Some of Mercer's most talented students will be competing in front of students and families to see who will win,” Assistant Director of Campus Life Adam Penland said. “The most exciting part of Cubstock is having our students perform for their friends and our visiting families since it is Family Weekend.”

“This year all of our sign-ups are musical performances,” QuadWorks President Antonia Perciaccante '26 said. She urges students to come support Mercer’s rising musicians. “I am very excited to see some of the talent we have on campus shine.”

Among featured performances this year are bands MothaFunka and Kosher Pickle. While Cubstock offers artists on campus a chance to perform, Charbel Youhanna ‘26 emphasized that it’s just as exciting of an opportunity for the students in the audience. Youhanna spoke on behalf of his band MothaFunka, the band that took home the win at last year’s Cubstock concert and performed at Bearstock 2025.

“What we're most excited about at Cubstock this year is engaging with our Mercer community,” Youhanna said. “We know how important it is to be able to express yourself and let go of your inhibitions and bad feelings, and really just have fun.”

“I’m most excited about the Mercer community uniting to share our collective love for music,” said Kiah Shealy ‘26, who will be performing at Cubstock this Friday with both bands MothaFunka and Kosher Pickle. “I really do believe music has the ability to connect with people and bring them together.”

With midterm season approaching, family weekend events like Cubstock allow students the opportunity to unwind and enjoy themselves. “Having fun with friends is what I am most excited about, and, of course, the chance to open for Bearstock is the cherry on top,” Elliot Keyser ‘28, a member of Kosher Pickle, said.

MothaFunka encouraged every student to, “come out to Cubstock, put down your phones and live in the moment.”
