Excitement filled Cruz Plaza on Friday, Sept. 11, as Mercer University students received their sorority bids and were officially placed into Panhellenic houses.
Bid Day 2026 followed days of deliberation in a process known as recruitment. After recruitment, sisters from Chi Omega, Phi Mu, Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Gamma Delta gathered under tents on Cruz while potential sisters waited near Stetson Hall. After receiving their bids through hand-written letters, new members joyously made their way to the tent where they met the rest of their pledge class. Afterwards, the recruitment members greeted them into their new chapters with celebrations that included glitter and paint.
Every year, each sorority coordinates their own custom theme and color scheme for the year. This year, Chi Omega was carnival themed, Alpha Delta Pi was birthday themed, Alpha Gamma Delta was lemonade themed and Phi Mu was 'Oh So Fancy' themed.
