As many struggling college students can attest, it can be difficult to manage three important resources — time, money and transportation — which are hard to find and even harder to balance. Students constantly engage in opportunity cost analysis without realizing it. They are constructing ways to complete their work, manage their finances and effectively maneuver on and off campus.

The 2023 Grammy Awards have come and gone and with it, many historic wins and powerful moments occurred. The show was hosted by Trevor Noah for the third consecutive year, fresh off of his departure from The Daily Show. After the past two years were held in April and March, respectively, the show returns to its usual winter runtime. Throughout the night, some major wins took place.

With the numerous tasks to complete to make yourself marketable and the seemingly endless amount of research needed to find an internship that matches your values, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Executive Director for Mercer’s Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) Kim Meredith refers to it as “analysis paralysis.”

The Filipino Student Association held its first Palabok and Lumpia event Oct. 26 on Cruz Plaza to raise money for the club to fund future events on campus and for the potential to travel to state-wide FSA events.

"Entergalactic" is the eighth studio album from American rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and (newly) actor Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi. He returns nearly two years after his last release in 2020, "Man on the Moon III: The Chosen" amidst a rather tumultuous year for him. With his public falling out with long-time collaborator Kanye West and mistreatment at his Rolling Loud performance in July, Cudi has claimed that the album is his final musical project, as he plans to focus more on acting, making this, his potential final outing, a musical and visual combination send-off.

For almost 45 years, writer, producer and director George Miller has created a diverse range of films. From the high-octane "Mad Max" action series to more creative animated projects, like "Happy Feet," Miller knows how to craft vibrant pieces of cinema. Miller’s last film, "Mad Max: Fury Road," proved he had finally cemented his style with extravagant colors and astounding technical achievement.

"Saints Row" is a franchise that has dramatically shifted its identity over its 16-year existence. The original game existed to act as a competitor to Rockstar’s "Grand Theft Auto" series, while the second detoured into a more comedic direction. It wouldn’t be until the third and fourth games that the franchise truly carved its niche, becoming a unique experience that parodies American society and superheroes while establishing a bombastic world filled with unusual weapons and other tools.

Mercer will hold its 17th annual Building the Beloved Community Symposium from Sept. 15-16. This year’s event will mark the first time the symposium has been held in person and at full speed since 2019, and it will be free to all who wish to attend.

The Mercer Review, a pre-law and academic publication, received a revitalization this semester with a new editor-in-chief. The publication, run by junior Safia Serena Tejani, provides undergraduate students the opportunity to spread their knowledge of various global topics and provide commentary through their original research.

The new video game "Elden Ring," developed by FromSoftware Inc., sees its story take place in a realm called the Lands Between after the magic Elden Ring is destroyed and its shards are scattered. The land once graced by the Ring’s power has fallen under the rule of the demigod offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal. Each offspring holds a piece of shard of the Ring that corrupts them with its power. Players take control of an exile from the Lands Between who lost the Ring’s grace and are summoned back after the Shattering. Players must traverse the vast lands to collect the Great Runes, reforge the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.
