Students and faculty gather for peaceful demonstration on Cruz Plaza

A small crowd of students gathered on Cruz Plaza today, supported by faculty, to perform a "peaceful and educational" demonstration in solidarity with other students across America. The protest was organized by Tori Glazier '24, Matthew Simmerman '24 and Belle Hart '24 in order to ask once again for Mercer to respond, acknowledge or agree to their requests that have been publicly expressed since Mercer Police intervened on behalf of the University during a protest outside a guest lecture in April.

MAAC approaches SGA with EpiPen proposal

The Mercer Allergy Awareness Club (MAAC) recently proposed that the school equip Mercer Police, resident assistants and members of the Mercer administration with EpiPens. The suggestion comes a few years following the death of a freshman on campus who suffered a severe allergic reaction in their dorm.

Student protestor at TPUSA event released on bail

Mercer Students for Justice in Palestine (MSJP) organized a protest of a guest lecture by Turning Point USA (TPUSA) speaker Jennifer Grossman on Thursday. The lecture was sponsored by TPUSA and Mercer's Center for Economics and Liberty. A student identified as Finnegan O'Brien '27 was photographed in handcuffs outside of Willet Auditorium that night, and he has been charged with simple battery, according to an incident report from MerPo.

New Neapolitan-style pizza restaurant coming soon to Mercer Village

Mercer Village Pizza is set to join the lineup of restaurants in Mercer Village, becoming the fourth pizza establishment to occupy the space adjacent to Z Beans Coffee. The new restaurant is scheduled to open on April 10 and will serve Neapolitan pizza along with a range of other options including wings, sandwiches and a few surprises later down the line.

Auxiliary services cracks down on theft

Mercer’s Auxiliary Services sent out a school-wide email on Monday reminding its recipients that shoplifting is a crime and that any potential violations could be referred to authorities, alerting many Mercer students to the reality that shoplifitng is becoming an issue on campus.
