Mercer students enjoyed free entry to the Cherry Blossom Fair on Thursday at Carolyn Crayton Park. There was a miscommunication with some ticket vendors charging for entry, but wrongly charged students were able to a refund from Mercer’s Campus Life office.

Mercer, Middle Georgia State University and Wesleyan College are hosting the College Town Film Series 2024 following up their January 25 screening of "Paper Moon" with "Back to the Future" at Mercer University February 1 and "Groundhog Day" on February 8.

Tonight's panel on the Israel-Palestine conflict garnered more attention than was planned, forcing the organizers to move from the Godsey 103 lecture hall to Willet Auditorium, which was so full that panel attendees filled the upper deck of the auditorium and sat on the steps between the rows of lecture seats.
This fall marks Washington Memorial Library’s 100th anniversary. The library will kick off the celebration on Nov. 9 with an opening birthday party, followed by a year of monthly challenges ending in October 2024.
On Sept. 29, in order to fulfill the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Mercer University released to students a copy of the 2023 Campus Crime report, which covers statistics from the 2022 calendar year. The University also released information to help students access the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's (GBI) sex offender registry.
The Historic Macon Foundation (HMF) held its semi-annual flea market recently, running for three days from March 31 to April 2. The market has been a staple of Macon's yearly calendar of events since it started more than 40 years ago.
Mercer sits on the edge of downtown Macon, reaching from College Street to Little Richard Perriman Boulevard to Ash Street in Beall’s Hill. These streets are major downtown connectors for students at Mercer, and they have each been redeveloped in recent years.
According to Jones, Bibb County suffered 70 homicides and 61 murders, which was up from 55 homicides and 44 murders in all of 2021. As of Jan. 28, Bibb has already suffered an additional 6 homicides — almost two per week.
The goal of the event was to engage the community in reimagining their streets, said Rachel Hollar Umana, executive director and founder of Bike Walk Macon.
Macon Burger Week was founded in 2018 by the Georgia Beef Board and gives local restaurants an opportunity to create unique dishes and promote their businesses.

Much of the proceeds from the sale and store go towards supporting libraries, including those like Washington Memorial Library on College Street.
The goal of Macon Pride in the Park was to promote community and acceptance, Macon Pride Vice President Charlotte Storey said.
As fall approaches, so does the return of the annual Macon Pride Festival. This year's festival is a seven-day long celebration beginning on Sept. 26 full of food, vendors, drag and, of course, pride.
