No. 6 Mercer falls to Tigers, earn first-round bye in NCAA Playoffs

Mercer football (9-2, 8-0 Southern Conference) lost to Auburn University (5-6, 1-6 SEC) 62-7 on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025. The following day, the Bears were awarded the No. 6 seed in the FCS Playoffs, and they will receive a first-round bye in their third-straight playoffs appearance. It will be their first Saturday off since Oct. 19.

With SoCon title on line, No. 12 Mercer travels to No. 24 WCU

Mercer football (7-1, 6-0 Southern Conference) takes on Western Carolina University (6-3, 5-0 SoCon) on Saturday in a battle for the sole lead of the conference. The matchup is also a contest between the only two teams left undefeated in SoCon play, with the No. 12 Bears traveling up to Cullowhee, N.C. to take on the No. 24 Catamounts.

Women's basketball looks to bounce back in new season

Last year, the team went 8-22 under Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard in her first season leading the team, and won just three Southern Conference games. This year, with a new mixture of players and staff members, the team is looking to excel in their second season with Clark-Heard at the helm.
