The Grand Opera House was filled with excitement and joy on Sept. 28 during the Broadway Does Pride Cabaret show, hosted as part of Macon Pride Week. The event not only included the cabaret show, but it showcased the Georgia Equality Exhibit as well.

Takisha Smith, the ever-friendly worker at the front desk at Mercer’s cafeteria, has a habit of asking students how their day is going as they walk in to grab some food. Sam Figiel ‘25 is among the students who frequently ask about Smith’s day in return. Usually, her response is positive. But one day, Figiel said, she was feeling overwhelmed.

The University Center food court has pulled a recent fresh produce delivery from Chick-fil-A's kitchen following the discovery of insects in the food, the University said in a statement to The Cluster Thursday.

Mercer’s Historic Quad transformed into an ancient Greek arena replete with teams whose focus was to honor their respective god or goddess on Sept. 23. Acts of strength of body and mind proved which team was most indebted to their respective deity, all followed by a skit from each team about a scene from a Great Book of their choosing.

With a new school year in full swing, Mercer’s Office of Global Education continues to offer students opportunities to travel and learn about other cultures. Last week’s Study Abroad Week featured a Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday and also included informational sessions and a diversity panel.

The Mercer Bears played the Citadel on Saturday, who came off a big win against last year’s conference champions, Eastern Tennessee State University. Going into the game, the Bears were confident after spending two weeks in practice preparing for the Bulldogs. Coach Drew Cronic spent the bye week getting the team ready for the Bulldog’s triple-option offense and powerful defense.

For almost 45 years, writer, producer and director George Miller has created a diverse range of films. From the high-octane "Mad Max" action series to more creative animated projects, like "Happy Feet," Miller knows how to craft vibrant pieces of cinema. Miller’s last film, "Mad Max: Fury Road," proved he had finally cemented his style with extravagant colors and astounding technical achievement.

"Saints Row" is a franchise that has dramatically shifted its identity over its 16-year existence. The original game existed to act as a competitor to Rockstar’s "Grand Theft Auto" series, while the second detoured into a more comedic direction. It wouldn’t be until the third and fourth games that the franchise truly carved its niche, becoming a unique experience that parodies American society and superheroes while establishing a bombastic world filled with unusual weapons and other tools.

After addressing a few takeaways from the Auburn game two weeks ago, head football coach Drew Cronic described how he is feeling as his team takes on the Citadel this Saturday. The team and staff are excited to host their first conference game of the season at Five Star Stadium as they take on the Bulldogs, who just defeated Eastern Tennessee State University, the reigning conference champions.
