“The use of the word craft is just another way to devalue certain types of art," professor Virginia Young said.

BYX has begun the process of becoming official on Mercer's campus. Starting this semester, they begin their year-long provisionary period as a colony, during which they must meet certain criteria.

The university will require masking and has changed its isolation period to five days, according to an email from president William Underwood.
"We encourage all students and employees to get a booster, and we want to make it very convenient for everyone to get a booster on campus," Reffitt said.
As of now, Mercer University does not require the vaccination to be on campus.

Quickly approaching two years since the mural’s removal, it is still unclear why the mural was removed, if any retributions were made to the artist or the community, and if there will ever be a mural on the previously occupied wall ever again.
Nearly 98% of faculty and staff have been vaccinated, and 87% of students have been vaccinated.
