Bearthon is a nine-hour dance marathon event where MU Miracle and students from all over Mercer raise money for the Beverly Knight Children’s Hospital, celebrate all the accomplishments they’ve made over the past year, and bond with the Miracle community to share their passions for the organization and the Miracle kids.
Rylan Allen and Abigail Yemisrach were previously announced as the SGA President and Vice President for the 2022-23 school year.
These programs do not offer extra preparation for professional school but instead offer peace of mind to pre-professional students allowing them a better chance of admission to graduate or professional school and in some cases, the chance to accelerate and start their careers early.
In an uncontested election, junior Rylan Alen will continue his tenure as Student Government Association President. Junior Abigail Yemisrach will replace current Vice President and soon-to-be-graduate Natalie Yaeger.
Some Muslim students at Mercer have also taken steps to take the month more seriously in an attempt to get closer to their faith even while taking their full course load.
“This is my first time I actually celebrated, I’m super enthused. I feel like a kid again.”
"It is our hope here at the theatre that all who come to see the show are amazed and caught up in the story that we have worked so hard to put out," senior Laura Ashlyn Pridgen said. "Getting a genuine audience reaction to our work is what I’m most excited for.”
“The goal was and continues to be to have a small and intimate space in which students and professors can engage in conversation about important economic, social and political topics,” business professor Antonio Saravia said.
“I hope that Mercer Review becomes a similar premiere student-run and student-researched publication,” Wilson said. “This is a great way for Mercer undergraduates to get involved through reworking class projects or exploring new ideas.”
"We are just trying to live up to the name of Bearstock as much as possible," Chambers said. "It is a very daunting task, but we are trying our very best. We have the best support."
“Students who participate in these courses will gain valuable experience, build relationships with members of the Foreign Service and learn more about international cooperation,” Davis said.
“I love seeing students’ eyes light up when they hear or see something new, especially when it relates to the German language,” Edward Weintraut said.
