Georgia governor and lieutenant governor candidates speak at Mercer

Michael Thurmond, who is in Georgia's gubernatorial race as a Democrat, and lieutenant governor candidate Richard Wright spoke at Mercer about navigating predominantly white institutions as Black people on Feb. 17.  The panel was part of a series commemorating Black History Month and was hosted by the Mercer University National Council of Negro Women.

CAPS furthers initiatives to fulfill students' needs

Mercer’s Counseling and Psychological Services has initiated new programs and strategies to fit the needs of students on campus in recent years. The organization partners with many offices and organizations across campus to support students, including campus health, Housing and Residence Life and TRIO programs.

Mercer's new pickleball club serves up interest

A new Mercer organization is hitting the court as a group of students has officially formed a pickleball club this semester to expand the reach of the country's fastest growing sport. The club currently meets at the Tattnall Pickleball Center in Tattnall Square Park, located next to campus, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Elkins searches for input through Presidential Fellowship Program

Mercer University’s Center for Leadership, Ethics and Service and the Office of the President are taking applications for the Presidential Fellowship Program. The program aims will work with President Penny Elkins and those who are awarded a spot in it to develop leadership skills through service and engagement-based experiences. It is open to all undergraduate upperclassmen and graduate students, and applications are due Tuesday, Jan. 20.
